As well as the regular monthly “sponsorships” for student fees, there are many other needs which people can contribute towards. For example: school uniforms, exercise and text books, Government fees, teachers’ salaries, school lunches, computers, desks and white boards etc. These can be funded by “one-off” donations which will help the school to continue to meet the needs of the school, students and staff.
Food Bank
We have also established a “food bank” to enable us to supplement the many students who get little or no food at home. From time to time (when giving allows) we also send home “food packages” to the most needy families.
Milk Supplement Program
Children who show signs of malnutrition are given a carton of milk to drink three times a week. Other children who appear “weak” can also be added to the program.
Two young girls, Precious and Sarah who both show signs of malnutrition. Precious has yellowing and thinning hair a sure sign of malnutrition. Sarah is in Grade 6 but has stunted growth from a life of malnutrition. We are trying to give her body strength to grow again!
Desperate Family Needs
Beatrice is a single mother with 4 children and 2 grandchildren. They share a 10ft x 10ft one room slum. But as well as her own family, she must also care for 5 nieces and nephews who are either orphaned or unable to be cared for by their families. Beatrice is a single mother as is her daughter who was divorced and disowned by her own husband.
We are trying to find Beatrice a bigger room (and help with the rent) as well as provide some basic bedding and food to help support them

Donations can be made through GDG website at www.globaldevelopmentgroup.org. Whilst it is possible to use Credit Card or PayPal, we recommend the use of Direct Deposit which incurs no extra fees. [Pay ID can be used instead of BSB/Account – email GDG or Janet if you want those]
N.B. Donations made through GDG using Credit Card or PayPal will automatically add a transaction fee to Raisely (who own the payment system). This fee is voluntary and can be removed by “editing” the total amount at the bottom of the final page back to your donated amount.
